“LATE FOR WORK was born from that spirit, from contradiction, from delay, from the tension between freedom and structure. It became a way to claim space — as a North African, as someone queer, as someone who didn’t see themselves reflected in the industry. It’s not just a label, it’s a language.”
– Youssef Drissi
About Youssef
Youssef Drissi (Meknes, 1996) founded the label Late For Work soon after graduating from Casablanca’s fashion school Casa Mode. The label’s name represents the contradiction between two opposing environments: the formal workplace and the street. The name evokes being undisciplined, quirky and unstructured; words that for Drissi are in tune with the brand’s ethos. Classic and modern, eye-catching and subtle, masculine and feminine: Drissi has created a niche for himself with his unique garments that challenge the traditional distinction between male and female. His designs are re-composed, cut, deconstructed and stitched back together in a new composition. In this way he upcycles basic pieces into contemporary outfits. Late for Work has a young quirky feel with a dash of humour. Drissi has created his own world in the Moroccan fashion scene, emerging in a relatively short time as a leading designer known for his bold aesthetic and innovative approach to fashion. In 2025, he debuts his first solo runway show at Paris Fashion Week and earns a place as a finalist for the Fashion Trust Arabia Prize in Qatar.
